We Trained To Shoot Guns Like John Wick

(gun shots) – So almost a year ago I
saw this crazy video online on Keanu Reeves at a gun
range doing gun training for the movie John Wick Two, was totally shredding it up. I wanted to see if we
could take regular people, but not just do it, see
if we could actually beat Keanu Reeves’ time. So I brought my friend Sherial with me out to Simi Valley. – I am a big advocate for
women being seen as equals just to show that we’ve got what it takes to have power and be
dangerous and be badass. – So we went to Taran Tactical Innovations to be taught by Taran
Butler, the same gun trainer that taught Keanu Reeves
to do all that work that you see in that video. He’s basically the Michael
Jordan of competitive shooting. At a time he had an 11-year win streak. That’s crazy, nobody has an
11-year win streak in anything. – I’m multi-time world and
three gun national champion. Our gun is in Jack Reacher. Our guns are in John Wick, Chapter Two. – Taran agreed to bring
us out to his gun range and show us how to do the
exact same gun training that he put Keanu Reeves through. It’s called three gun training
which involves a pistol, a shotgun, and a rifle. Once we got geared up we went straight into pistol training. First we had to work on our
stance and then our draw. The draw is important
because we have to make sure we do it quickly, but also safely. – Once we got that down and
we felt comfortable with it, we got into shooting live ammo. We would do it over and over
and over and over and over until we had it down. (gun shots) It seems like it wouldn’t be hard, but you’re learning all
these steps individually that you then have to
put together to be one solid, fluid action. (powerful instrumental music) – You’re gonna go boom, boom, boom, boom, and then boom right there. – How are you feeling, you ready? – It’s gonna be a piece
of cake. (laughing) – Easy, it’s nothing, we got this. This phase is probably the most difficult to step into right away. The shotgun is the
biggest gun of the three. So when you fire that shotgun you feel it. (gun shots) Taran was such as good, yet
strict, teacher with us. He made sure we got it down
before we could move on to the next phase. If we messed up he would make us stop and start over again until
we did it the right way. (strong instrumental music) As soon as we got comfortable with that we switched to doing it all in one motion from shooting with the pistol, holstering it, going
straight to the shotgun picking it up, taking the safety off and shooting your targets. You had to do it all in one motion and as quick as possible,
as accurate as possible, but also safe. So you have all these
different things going on in your head while you
have a dangerous weapon in your hand. It was pretty intense. All right, so we did pistol and shotgun and now we’re going to do the
rifle and the final course. You ready? – Yeah. – Yeah, I’m ready, all right let’s get it. So first we did last looks with our gear, make sure everything was fitting right. Make sure that our
holsters were tight enough because when we’re
running through the course you had to make sure that
everything would stay in place. Then Taran walked up through
the course step by step. – Once we had done a
walk-through with Taran, Sherial and I then went
and did individual practice on our own. – We just did walk-through
after walk-through after walk-through. Because we had only one
day to learn all of this we had to process a lot of
information very quickly and then put it right into action. Just finished the
run-through, it’s a beast. We have 19 targets that we have to hit. The goal is to make
sure we have no misses. Obviously we want to do it fast, try to get it in Keanu’s time. But the main goal is to
make sure we have no misses. – [Taran] Shooter ready, stand by. (beep) (gun shots) (fast-paced instrumental music) – [Taran] Good. Stand by. (beep) Good, get in there. Good, swing it. Get in closer. (gun shots) (fast-paced music) Holster it. (lively instrumental music) (gun shots) Good. (cheering and clapping) – I never broke 180, that was awesome. Is your heart pounding? – Yeah. – [Female] How do you feel right now? – I’m feeling pretty badass. (laughing) – [Josh] Turns out we
hit all of our targets, 19 of 19, but my time was five seconds off of Keanu’s time. If it wasn’t for me
forgetting to hit the safety I would have had another two seconds. So technically I was
only three seconds off. – I think I did better
than I thought I would at the beginning of this. So I’m feeling pumped right now. – Sherial was better with
precision and accuracy. In fact, she was a lot
more accurate than I was and had a lot of dead center shots. – [Taran] Those are perfect. Perfect, these are as good as it gets. – This experience was
intimidating yet exciting. – Easily one of the
coolest things I’ve ever gotten to do. – It really does get your blood pumping. It’s kind of out of body. – Taran and his team were so amazing. Such a cool team of pros. Sherial and I just had a blast. It’s crazy how your
adrenaline gets pumping and you’re just riding this natural high. Even though we didn’t beat Keanu’s time, I still think we could be
stars in our own action movie. (fierce instrumental music)

  1. I love how she is like 'woman can be equally badass as men' (Which i'm not saying the can't) and then took longer than both the men in the video.

  2. Never knew extreme target practice was a thing till now. Now here is a real challenge, do it with no sleep for 2 days in 50 lbs of gear.

  3. Awesome. Get more femenists and sjws into the idea of a fundamental human right to self defense. We need all the help we can get what with all the idiots begging for our rights to be stripped by what they call racist cops and a literally Hitler fascist president.

  4. I'm a simple man. I see a feminist I dislike immediately.

BTW Keanu is John Wick himself in real life. He can kill u with a freaking pencil even if u are a woman (equality for u wahman) just like he kills men. but he is too kind. Thank him for letting u live.

  5. I do think its interesting to see that the man was focused on speed while the lady focused on accuracy. Neat differences!

  6. トレーナーのひと〜強そう🐱

  7. Came here just for the comments – I definitely don't need to hear Buzzcucks drivel on for seven minutes.

  8. I love how they try and force the feminism when there's already badass women who work there and do it as well.

  9. president excellent shooting range wow alot of fun shooting there great alot rifle and alot of pistol alot shotgun wow realy alot fun John wick shots shooting there great alot of fun shooting excited everyshoot perfict fantastic have nice day"

  10. Lol of course the most liberal channel on YouTube has to make it clear that women can shoot guns to. Earned yourself a nice dislike buzzfeed congrats

  11. These people are clearly novices. The firearms don't make you a badass. The guns themselves are merely tools. Anyone can pull the trigger. It's your training and the skill that determine whether you walk away from a gun fight or die in the fight.

Don't let any female tells you otherwise!

  12. No offense to the woman, but her stance was awful, her time was awful, and her footwork and movement was absolutely horrid. It makes me cringe so much.

  13. A lot of the comments say "Ugh, a feminist." It's Buzzfeed, what do you expect? They're major snowflakes.

  14. 4:18 man the way she holds the gun is so wrong when moving, looks more like a call of duty hard-scoper walking with scope on xd

  15. So 3- gun competitions are nothing new. They are fun, they are exciting but to be a top competition pretty much means it has to be your job. Still lots of fun to compete at local matches. Most anywhere you live you can find a place to do these matches or other action pistol matches. Cost some money though, pretty decent gear is required.

  16. 1. Nice feminism 2. He's not saying Keanu's name right and i hate it. 3. Can we bring up this lady again? SERIOUSLY IT'S A FUCKING VIDEO NOT A HATE SPEECH PARADE

  17. You know, holding the weapons upward is not exactly a sign of machismo to me. Be it rifles or pistols or shotguns, holding them up is a sure sign of cockiness in my opinion. You may have differing ones, but whatever.

  18. Великие стрелки!!! Я еще курсантом стрелял из ПМ и ТТ с дистанции 25 м. Попадал. Только сейчас спустя 23 года перешли на дистанцию 15 м. На видео с такой дистанции только косой не попадет

  19. I get the equality part HOWEVER, You’re not on the range to prove a gender equality point. You’re on the range to train effectively and safely. Leave your personal matters in the parking lot.

  20. All that training and these idiots couldn't figure out how to keep their finger off of the trigger? Really? These people are lucky they didn't seriously injure themselves or others. Overall just seems like they were treating the guns like toys and not really understanding the gravity of their actions.

  21. Such a training brings nothing.
    It is just a sport.
    Pure sport.

So long you are not simulating that the targets are shooting at you, trust me, it is just a sport.
You do not need to hide, you do not need to be aware of the fire from another targets and so on.
If you had to pass 19 armed targets…

  22. YEAH IT LOOKS LIKE A top notch athlete champ taren tactical 300lbs MAN IS THAT WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A MAN OF focus EATING ever HOUR

  23. US GUN CULTURE – A Rant
The un-written rule of DO NOT say anything bad about any firearm, gun product, or shooting event for fear of damaging gun industry financially &/or giving anti-gunners “ammunition” to use against the gun industry… HAS GONE TOO FAR:
    "The Guns of John Wick"
    "Fight like John Wick"
    "Top 5 John Wick Guns"
"How to Shoot from A Horse like John Wick 3"

MONEY – Thats All I Want
Why is the gun industry so hard up for profits they promote gun hating crazy Hollywood. John Wick movies (among others) show unbelievable weapon stunts, have over 2 hours of fight scenes, and desensitizes the value of human life. These “snuff” films are of course fantasies of the grossest kind.

Constructive, real-life things that really matter like:
Training – there are very few training videos on YouTube/Social Media but lots of gun reviews & guns product ventures there, hmm…
The Other Reviews – where are the reviews of all things in the shooting community that don’t just a focus on the gun?
    – What are the facts/data on gunfights & CCW incidents?
    – How about talking on & reviews covering the non-lethal devices (Pepper Spray, Tasers, batons, canes, etc.). Note: deadly force is not always needed in self-defense.
    – Let us see avoidance, de-escalation techniques, and the like instead of always talking about shooting people & things.
    – Making videos at shooting events that promote community training not just video of guys shooting certain guns.
    – Instead or with Shot Show (mainly emphasizing firearms) lets have Self-Defense Show (emphasizing every but the life changing shooting part)
    – on & on

    WHY NOT??
Oh, that is right the things mentioned above are usually given away freely and they are actually useful in serious self-defense. Using firearms are only for your last,
no other way technique & should not be glorified or over emphasized as a solution to any problem like in Hollywood movies & on the internet ergo on YouTube.

The shame is only a few are actually here helping train, teach, preach the true gun gospel:
    Paul Harrell
    Jerry Miculek
    Active Self-Protection
    and so on

Don’t follow gun salesmen, the gun industry, and Hollywood. Use guns in the right way =
for last ditch self-protection. Do not over glorify any gun as it is just a tool.
If you use your head you will never ever have to use your gun in a CCW incident.
I am 99.1% sure of that.

  24. BF Multi: Links video to leftist coworkers
BF: Heads explode, sit in ensues, walk out occurs, no more Buzzfeed except Multi

    Everyone else: Rejoices

  25. So Wick has probably 100k in training for months and only beat this guys time by 6 seconds. Who has a couple hours. Just saying..
