  1. I played this game again a couple years ago after more than a decade, and for about an hour after completing this mission I was just so sad that the tale of Razgriz was over.
    Goddam, what a masterpiece.

  2. Still the best story and overall soundtrack of any Ace Combat game yet. Gameplay would go for Ace Combat 5, that game on Ace is fucking nuts!
Ace Combat 7 is pretty neet too ^_^

  3. Ac 7 good, but I still prefer ac 5. Near to unlock all the planes that I need for the wywern, and then I'll buy the Falken, already unlocked!

  4. If Chopper was alive… The mission with the 5 Ghosts of Razgriz. Or better a reboot of the Ace Combat 5, with Chopper alive in all the missions it will be EPIC. The best wingman ever… (the worst is Count and Guts).

  5. Even though it’s a different game, one of Archer’s lines reminded me of Blazing Angels

“It was the sort of fight where your plane got shot up so bad the only things holding it together were spit and prayers. And then you ran out of spit. Maybe Joe was watching out for us up there… I still would have rather had him with us though…”

  6. So. Much. Better. Than 7. I remember why I love Ace Combat now. Sometimes you forget after playing the cesspool of awful that is 7.

  7. After I played Ace Combat 7 I learned that the records of the Razgriz Squadron will be made public so everyone can hear their story.

Maybe something that will tie into a future Ace Combat 8? 🙂

  8. Who do you think's covering up the battle?
Listen… The only thing across that ocean is Murska Air Base. That's Yuktobanian territory.
But haven't we been allies with the Yukes since the war 15 years ago?

  9. Nagase, you keep flying like that and you'll die real soon!
    I won't die, Sir.
You're flying Number Two on my wing. Gotta keep an eye on you or who knows what you'll get yourself into.

  10. It somehow took me until AC7 to realize that this is basically the vocal/choral version of the Ace Combat motif itself…

  11. Look at that wreckage. I'm amazed they're still making ‘em like this.
Who's this "they" you're referring to?
Razgriz…the demon from the world of fairy tales…
Captain, do you believe in the "Demon of Razgriz?"
The demon from the north sea!
I've never seen a stupid fairy tale come true like this!

  12. 3:43 When a game has a lasting impact on you, and you get chills every time you hear the song that played at its peak.

  13. This song is called the Unsung War, yet it’s one of a few songs in this game that has lyrics and vocals

  14. Alan Silvestri: I've created a song that will make people cry in the movies, it's called "Portals" and it will play in Avengers Endgame
Keiki Kobayashi: Hahaha, hold my beer!

  15. 2:20– 2:25 This was used in the trailer for SOMETHING! I don't remember for the life of me what it was, but I distinctly remember this single sample in something else.

  16. I don't know if any will see this but. I would like one mission with them all together flying in formation one last time. seeing the aces of razgriz do one final far well flight before disappearing for ever. SOULT THE ACES OF RAZGRIZ

  17. I just realized something about this song and the lyrics that connects to the story.

The game starts out as wardog. When Yuktobania declared war on osea. Wardog went out on many missions and was feared by the Yuktobanians calling them, the Demons of Razgriz, because of the destruction they have caused to their forces. The squadron then gets shot down by the 8492nd squadron, symbolizing the death of Razgriz. But they continued operations in secret, now being called the Ghosts of Razgriz.

Nearing the end of the game, when both countries realize that the Greymen caused the war and they are about to be destroyed by the solg, both forces from both sides fight side by side to stop this disaster, including the Razgriz.
The final mission is to destroy the solg which is descending to oured. They do destroy it. Saving Oured from destruction, symbolizing the return of Razgriz.

  18. Nugget I am naming you motormouth chopper meanwhile awacs thunderblockheads (*/*) 15-20 missions later (./.)
I did those because the last one is when chopper dies rip chopper

  19. My favourite bit in mission is after you take the double Belkan formation fast enough for all your wingman to say there appreciation or hopes after this along with the 15 years ago piano.

  20. Cum historia
    Mutat valde Razgriz
    Revelat ipsum
    Primum daemon scelestus est

    CUM HISTORIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAA!!!!
    MUTAT VALDEEE RAZGRIZZZZ!!!

Oh man. Hey, guys did you listen to that Song?
    Yes>>><<<No

  21. Chopper: sir, can you see somewhere i can drop the plane?

ME: "YES" chopper there is a river next to the stad… (interrupted by nagase)

Nagase: The STADIUM! drop the plane there!

    ME: damm it nagase!

  22. Honestly, hearing this theme for the first time, I didn't think it could get any better. Fortunately, Zero managed to prove me wrong.

  23. When I first heard Unsung War and Zero, I had made up my mind rather quickly that Zero was the better piece. While I still hold that preference, having seen both songs used in their respective contexts, I've come to see Unsung War as a song equal to Zero in magnificence. It doesn't need to be fast paced and frantic, because you're not in a dogfight. You're methodically peeling apart a weapon that will destroy everything you fought for. You need a focused and deliberate song to match your task, while still embodying the gravity of your task. That's Unsung War.

  24. Ace Combat 5 is one of those games that just gives you this feeling that's hard to describe. It's one of those games that keeps you addicted to it no matter how many times you play it. It's the best game I've ever played. Shame they don't make Ace Combat games like that anymore.
