The Philippine Army Shooting Team – Ang Manunudla

Aim to be world-class champions Target is to be the finest marksman At the marksmanship training center, this is the mindset of every soldier The Philippine army is home to the best shooters that have distinguished themselves Not only in local competitions, but in international competitions as well At the marksmanship training center in Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac Members of the Philippine Army don’t just become sharpshooters They are honed to become world-class marksman To be part of the “Manunudla” Of course, you have to be a shooter. The only people who can wear this patch As per instruction Are those who have competed abroad, Or you went through the elimination process And you are the one representing us in the Asean Army Rifle Meet. Captain Jose Carlos Coruñas is one of trainees yearning for this badge Their marksmanship skills are enhanced by joining various shooting competitions here and abroad To be able to earn the Manunudla patch you have to undergo the basic marksmanship training Advanced marksmanship training And you need to able to pass the marksmanship training course for both pistol and rifle And then, you must be able to represent the country In any international tournament for you to be able to wear the Manunudla patch The Philippine Army shooting team has won the most coveted in the 2014 Australian Army Skill At Arms Meet Their team has defeated the best shooters from the United States and 12 other countries These days The team usually competes in the AASAM BISAM And the AARM or the Army Asean Rifle Meet Teams who join the AASAM are from first world countries We won world champion there We beat USA UK Canada So, that proved That this is a world-class team The AASAM is an annual shooting competition among different units of the Australian Army It aims to showcase the marksmanship of participating teams It also serves as a venue to exchange techniques and learn from each other The army team won 14 gold medals 50 silver medals And 2 bronze medals in the team matches Whenever we join competitions It is a big responsibility for us. We hold our country’s honor in our hands, Not just for ourselves, But for our unit And for our nation’s flag. Well, not to be bias, but in the latest PNP – AFP olympics That saw the participation of the Philippine National Police, the 3 major services The Philippine Army emerged as the champions And It is the Philippine Army shooting team that represents the country in international tournaments So, I am proud to say that the marksmanship training center Is the premier marksmanship training center of the Armed Forces of the Philippines The Philippine Army team proved is very high level of marksmanship Making it equal to the other armies not only in the ASEAN region, but also the whole world At the Southeast Asian picture Our toughest opponents would have to be Indonesia and Thailand Of course Because of our training and our equipage I would say that we are just at par There’s just a slight edge with the equipment and of course ammunition But training wise, we have world-class training We do not fall from first, second and third place We get frist, second or third sometimes We do not stray far from the top rank That’s how good your Philippine Army shooting team is Up next What it takes to be an elite marksman The Philippine Army implements various training programs to further enhance the shooting skills of each soldier There are different teams here like the pistol team Men and ladies There is also a carbine team Carbines are what we refer to as “short” There are is a rifle team And then a machine-gun team There are different kinds stages like pistol Rifle Carbine And various kinds of discipline Going through the marksmanship training is like going through a college degree It takes 4 years for you to become competitive It’s the same for every competition Like I said, they come here or we recruit potential shooters And we train them to be marksmen Leaders of the training are like snipers too when it comes to selecting target members As of now, we have a mobile training team that we can train to become a remarkable shooter They tour around training And it is one of the methods to find potential shooters that we can train to become a remarkable shooter Challenge is their everyday ordeal If you ask me how rigid it is… Oh my God… There are advantage and disadvantages to it We train all day And that alone makes it very rigid Here in MTC, your marksmanship training soldiers start their day with their exercises Their calisthenics They start at around 4:30AM We run an average of 5 to 7 kilometers a day And then we have our conditioning drills We have our planking exercises to strengthen our core Because shooting is a discipline of muscle control One should load his gun with bullets of determination, passion and discipline This is our job We teach And we shoot As instructors, we shoot national and international It is exciting because we have an opportunity to help our fellow soldiers Especially the new ones Compared to other marksmanship training Scenario based shooting application are conducted in the training field While IPSC and IDPA are tournaments of speed and accuracy regularly operate scenarios The AARM, the Southeast Asian Rifle Meet and Australian Army Skill at Arms Meet Are more tests of how soldiers really fight in the field That’s why the distances there are 300 to 400 meters In IDPA, the farthest would be around 50 meters Lady cadet Leah shifted from bows and arrows to bullets I used to be an archer In my opinion, there is no difference between archery and shooting So, I tried it out and I enjoyed it Until I started to developed my skills Until they started putting us in competitions And we started winning the elimations If you pass the elimination Automatic You will get to shoot in international competitions Here, you need patience You have to be willing And you also need to have the skills She too desires to be a top-notch shooter Like the rest of the team For me, I join practical shooting competitions to gain self-confidence for joining competitions abroad It is important to have self-confidence and you need to expose yourself to shooting Anyone with perseverance can be an elite shooter It is difficult, yes. But, as they say, “If there’s a will, there’s a way.” So, if you want to come here It’s just a matter to coordinate with your commander that you want to train here You can coordinate that Or if you are really interested Even if you are not good in shooting To all my fellow soldiers: Find a way to train here If you really want to, just ask your commanders Then you will find yourself here We encourage you to be part of the Philippine Army shooting team We would like everyone to signify their intent to join the unit The center Not only will it validate your skills as an individual soldier But more importantly, it will give you an opportunity to represent the country in ways that the ordinary soldier can’t So, for all of you who are interested Please don’t be afraid to contact your assistant chief of staff for personnel Of the Training Doctrine Command And signify your intent We are going to be more than happy to welcome you to the center

  1. FINOYS ARE BETTER AT ALL SO US ARMY NEED FILIFINO SOLDIERS IN WAR BECAUSE FILIFINO ARE BRAVE AND FULL OF SKILLS AND TACTICS

  2. Sana lahat ng tapat ng soldiers and lawmakers ay maging markman para ma-protektahan bayan natin. Salute to you PA Shooting team. Dati rin akong shooter pero stop na, magastos din kasi.

  3. Forget about sharpshooting team, i read the U.S. replacing the warthog A10 by a new killing A10 version.
ASK TRUMP A SOFT LOAN AND BRING 10 A10 TO PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE.

THATS A REAL FLYING SLAUGHTER HOUSE!

  4. You can have the bests marksman/armaments in the world but when you have a President who is " inutil", it's non- relevant.

  5. how come they will not be tough, they shoot their own comrades with live bullets without scope in about 300-500 meters. shooter to its finest!

  6. Preparing and practicing for their attack on Americans. They are already in a strategic alliance with China, so the US should just let China have them. Duterte has already promised that the Philippines will be a province of China anyway. We will just have to escort our shipping to prevent the high seas piracy planned by China and the Philippines.

  7. The A-10 WARTHOG is the most important flying TANK aircraft to be ISSUED TO THE AFP and PHILIPPINE MARINES to FINISH the so called ABU SAYYAF and the red communist NPA!!!

  8. The important is that we have a very strong reliable sources of weapons.
A weapon that can reach a long distant feature,
But of course we a need also short ranges guns.

  9. The philippine military is weak better give the south china sea to china how can u even defend the it philippines navy arent that strong it doesnt have the capabilities to defend its waters due to lack of warships even submarines or aircraft carriers philippine is all talk about the arbitral tribunal its pathetic military is weak no match for china philippines is the weakest link in asia also it is very dependent on other countries like the U.S philippines can not even fend themseleves without the help of others very weak country

  10. The Philippines has produced many fine pistol shooters in the world especially in IPSC, IDPA, and 3 gun match. Here in the US a lot of Americans of Filipino heritage are slowly dominating the shooting sports.

  11. Philippines soldier they are lack of equipment China can beat Philippines in 1 week please buy new equipment for the military
    Greeting from 🇮🇩

  12. Filipinos are swift handed, not that much of the best of the worlds sharp shooters, but when it comes to speed, precision, short man o long range Ang focus kahit iron sights lang, they give high percentage and stable rate of fire,

  13. Bat yung marawi parang hinulugan ng nuclear.. Di naman nagagamit yung skill nyo sa totoong gera eh baril bahala pag gera na..

  14. Bat d pinalalabas yan ngaun q lang nalaman n world class shooter pla mga sundalo natin dinaig p us wow lang talgah

  15. Very level-headed, down-to-earth individuals… And with the advent the Duterte administration's Military Modernization effort, I believe that the long deserved, and needed upgrade for our armed forces, which has been neglected by the Aquino administration, will pave the way to a stronger, more confident Philippines.

I look forward to serving… Under the guidance of Duterte of course… 😉

  16. Maybe they forgot to mention about Indonesian Army ( TNI ) who won AASAM 12 years in a row.
TNI got 21 Gold, 14 silver, 10 broze in 2019 and in 2018 TNI got 36 Gold medals, 24 silver, 12 bronze and in 2019 two soldiers of TNI broke the records in AASAM in Sniper Category (One shot Two kill).
Maybe they forget to mention whos the one who train The Philippine Army and Train The Presidential Special Force under The President Corazon Aquino in 1987.

    The question is why.?
Because we are brothers and Indonesia Love The Philippines people.

    #Cheers

  17. ROTC should be brought back!
All Man/Woman capable to defend our country from future attacks
from neighbor countries, must somehow be prepared!

Knowledge is the Most powerful Weapon in the World…

  18. Philippines needs to get its shit together because realistically we are at the mercy of everyone else's military power.
I think it'd be best if we allow the Americans to make PH a US territory. Quit the Filipino pride shit. It's our only chance of survival, especially against
    China.

  19. Wow ! pwede bang mag training jaan for marksman skills lang para may combat edge sa kalaban ? Or isasabak kapa sa competition lang ?

  21. May
kasabihan nga!!! Aanhin mo ang dalawang BARIL. kung kahit isang beses hindi ka makatama ng KALABAN🔫👊👊👊
