CAMP INSTRUCTOR Well it s half past five in the morning and as you can see from outside
it s a very wet, dreary, cold, damp Melbourne winters morning. So maybe you re snuggled
up underneath the doona, you can hear the raindrops on the rooftop or maybe you re peaking
outside the window and you can have a look outside, or you ve even ventured out as far
as the front door, you re all dressed and thinking hmm, should I, shouldn t I go? Well,
let s ask a few fitmates to see what motivates them to get out into our Urban Boot Camp environment
and the benefits they get. BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR Alright, well it s 7.00am, you can see how
cold it is by the frost here. We ve got Maggie, Jerome and Kate. I m, just trying to show
that it s not so bad even though it s the middle of winter. You can see by the trees
in the background there s no leaves, you can see by the frost that it s about 5 degrees
this morning and it has rained, the ground is still a bit wet. Even Maggie s (Dog) is
trying to get out of the cold, trying to find some place where it s a bit more friendlier.
So guys, how are you finding getting out? You ve been with us, with Fitstyler now for
a few years, how are you finding getting up at half past five, going outside, it s dark,
wet, you can maybe hear it on the roof, and you think oh, how do I go outside when it
s not the greatest weather? JEROME FITNESS PARTICIPANT Well it s not half past five,
you try to get all the sleep that you possibly can. BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR Okay, alright, ten
to six? JEROME FITNESS PARTICIPANT Five to six, whatever you can maximize, what else?
Makes every other morning a sleep in. KATE FITNESS PARTICIPANT That s right so, and you
feel great at the end. BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR Yeah, and what sort of, what keeps you coming
back? I mean obviously it s, you re getting results, I mean what motivates you? KATE FITNESS
PARTICIPANT Your jokes keep us coming back. BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR And Michael s jokes now,
I mean JEROME FITNESS PARTICIPANT Yeah exactly, never stops ever the motivation. I just think
you feel so much better, so much better definitely. BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR Yeah. JEROME FITNESS
PARTICIPANT s not funny, generally for like KATE FITNESS PARTICIPANT Exactly JEROME FITNESS
PARTICIPANT Exactly, 2 hours a week you feel much better for the rest of the week. BOOT
CAMP INSTRUCTOR Yeah, and what about your work for the day? I mean obviously you guys
have pretty high pressure jobs and pressure at work. How do you find that helps your day
when you get an early fitness start? JEROME FITNESS PARTICIPANT Yeah really switched on.
KATE FITNESS PARTICIPANT Much happier and cheerful. JEROME FITNESS PARTICIPANT Which
is a good thing. KATE FITNESS PARTICIPANT Yeah, it helps me a lot. BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR
And what would you say to people that are thinking about doing a boot camp or, not necessarily
Fitstyler but an outdoor exercise program and they re going oh no, it s outdoors, it
s cold, it s horrible, I don t, it s really not for me. I mean what would you say about
getting cold? I mean you ve got, were you guys cold at the end, were you having to you
know wear your tops, I mean you re wearing your tops now after finishing the session.
JEROME FITNESS PARTICIPANT No, you warm up quickly. There s 2 things you warm up quickly
and gyms are so depressing. BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR Yeah. KATE FITNESS PARTICIPANT s beautiful
out here. JEROME FITNESS PARTICIPANT s lovely, look at it. KATE FITNESS PARTICIPANT You get
hot quick and it s gorgeous, just do it. BOOT CAMP INSTRUCTOR And people miss out, I mean
look at the background with this beautiful sunrise coming up. It s the best time of the
day, I mean most people miss out on this, fresh air and it isn t so bad. I mean look
everyone s warmed up, and having fun, we ve got a great group, we had probably about 15
this morning, so mid- July and it s all good so thanks guys. JEROME FITNESS PARTICIPANT
