  4. Grazie mille! I am Brazilian and I am trying to learn Italian. Since I already know English, your videos are helping me a lot! I really liked the idea of this video, but maybe you could also do some fully in Italian videos on normal speed.

  9. I would like to know how much time do you spend learning a new language, and it could be amazing if you start a serie (or something like that) learning a new language with us. I hope you'll see this comment and, if you do, let me know your thoughts.

Keep going on, i love your videos 🙂

Keep up the good work. Maybe I should try some French as well as we do have some French speaking people living here in South Africa.

  15. Grazie mille Tom!! It's very helpful for beginners like me. Complimenti!! Could you, please, do more videos like this?? Thank you!
    PS Great channel, very motivating!

  20. Hi. I enjoy your videos a lot. I am an English teacher in Costa Rica. I ve been learning Italian for the past two years and I find your videos very useful. I hope you don't mind my telling you that you forgot using the congiuntive mood on the second half of your statement on minute 3:30. That shows how much I enjoy your videos and how much attention I pay to your explanations. Take care.

  21. sir what is.
    vi sia piaciuto?
    why you used 'Sia'?

  23. I can't believe you're not Italian. For pete's sake, you could be Piero Barone's brother!
Love your videos, I learn Italian on my own and they are really helpful!

  26. So I learned Spanish in Argentina and it's pretty easy to understand everything you're saying. How interesting.

  27. Nice to see your return to us beginners…i followed you for a while, but i lost you in most of your all Italian videos..Glad to see you teaching to us n00bs again. !! I can follow you at this speed ..👍 Grazie !

  28. This video was a fantastic idea, hopefully you will continue to do more of them. They are easy to understand and are very helpful. Thank you so much Elsa

  29. Great video! THank you for this. I would love it if you had 10 of these videos to practice. Its not so easy finding audio like this!

  30. Tooom!

  31. Hey Tom – I have a question for you.  @ 3:23 you used the  congiuntivo presente to conjugate the verb piacere, but your following statement @ 3:28 you used the indicativo presente to conjugate the verb avere instead of the congiuntivo presente.   I would've thought that since you started both sentences with "spero" that both would be using the congiuntivo presente?  Just confused.  Thanks for the great work!

  32. Speed this video by 2x and u'll get the speed of average italian monologue 😀

  33. hey tom can you recommend italian movies and songs for us beginners or i think this is how i get hooked to learning new stuff

  35. Wow! I acctually understod like 70 % of what you said, and I have just started to lern italian! Wow! You give me hope I can do this! 😀

  36. BRAVISSIMO!!!!

  37. I tried to translate everything he said in this video. Please, let me know if you find any mistakes!

    Hey there!

    How are you?

    I hope very good!

In this video, I will talk entirely in Italian and only in Italian.

And why am I only talking in Italian and so slowly?

    What are the reasons?

So, I am trying to do an exercise for all those who want to improve their pronounciation and also their comprehension of the Italian language.

I know, for me, a language student, it is very useful to listen to a person speaking slowly to the language I am studying.

But I would like to stress (out) that Italian is not my mothertongue.

    My mother language is English.

Not all Italians talk in the same way as I’m talking now.

And, naturally, I am speaking quite slowly trying to pronounce every single word and to put emphasis to where I think it is necessary.

Not long ago, one of you had written to me, wondering if it would be possible to make a video like this.

And immediately I made myself (an) account that this was a good idea. (?)

Because I know in terms of students it can be very useful and also I am studying French at the moment.

And also, if French is a different Latin language – a different language which derives from Latin – It is not difficult for a person like me who can already speak a different language that derives from Latin – Italian.

But, of course, with each new thing that we are looking for to learn, like a foreign language, there are always on of these difficulties.

And, for me, one of the problems that I have withFrench is the pronounciation and then of course the comprehension.

Namely, how we cane or in general understand the French when they talk.

Because, of course, I don’t live in a country where the people speak French, not even Italian, everyone here in my country speaks Italian.

    You are all fantastic!

  38. I could understand almost everything because as he said, it is a latin language and I'm native in another latin language
    SPANISH! 😃

  39. This is video is excellent, but would be even better if (1) you did the same thing, speaking at a normal speed, and (2) had a native speaker speaking the same thing, at normal speed. I think that sort of progression would really help train the beginner's ear.

  41. Didn't understand why you said "lentamente" because to me it was very fast. Turned out I had the speed on 1,5 without realizing 😅
